I've moved to Boston, well, really Newton, Massachusetts. I am looking forward to many photographs here.

My web site is being re-designed. Stay tuned.

There is almost too much to report!

First, my second New York City solo show entitled "Olney" opens 2 May (7 - 9pm). All of the works included in the show are now posted on this web site. The title and show were inspired by my years in Olney, a D.C. suburb.

Second, the catalogue for this show has gone to print and is now in circulation. Any requests for catalogues can be sent to Stefan at Luxe Gallery, www.luxegallery.net. I am forever grateful to Elizabeth Dougherty for her wonderful design, endless hours, and late-night/early-morning revisions. Also, I owe many thanks to J. Robert Lennon for contributing a fantastic story (www.jrobertlennon.com). And, thanks to Heather Bennett for writing a fantastic introduction.

Third, welcome Miriam Ariela, born 17 February 2008.

1 january 2008

Happy new year.

This month I will be in a group show at Luxe Gallery opening 11 january. In this show will be an untitled piece from 2007 (back of woman standing in doorway).

I will conclude shooting for my May show sometime this month or next as the catalogue comes together. All images will be posted at that time so keep checking for web site updates.

1 november 2007

One new image has been added to the "current" section of this web site

This month I am finishing work on the photo illustrations for a children's book written by novelist Kate Ledger.

Also, this month I am working closely with graphic designer, Elizabeth Dourgherty, on the catalogue for my upcoming show.

1 october 2007

This past month, I spent most of my time working on one photograph that includes children. I will continue to work on this image this month and hopefully by 1 november I will have a new photograph posted.

I was also scheduled to be in another group show this month. That show has been postponed to early 2008 and further details on this show and others will be posted as soon as possible.

Also, I have two new nieces. Welcome Hailey and Reilly, born yesterday.

1 september 2007

With the unofficial close to summer here, I cannot help but feel the rising energy for a productive fall. While I am sad that the summer ends, I am relieved that the fall begins. It seems like just a moment ago I was writing my June entry preparing for a trip to Puerto Rico. I have now visited several islands in between - ending with my favorite - Chebeague Island, Maine. My busy schedule has kept me from this journal, but not from working. There are many updates.

First, Luxe Gallery has moved. I am excited to report that the gallery, along with several others, has made a bold move to the lower east side of Manhattan. The gallery now has a ground level space and is in good company with several other galleries and a museum close by. For full details, see my contact page. Second, with this move, I have decided to postpone the opening of my second solo show to the spring. I am looking forward to the extra time to work. Third, I am in two group shows right now - opening a few days ago was "Double X: Woman Representing Woman" at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and opening in a few days is "All the Way," the inaugural group show at the new space (6 september 2007, 7 - 9pm).

This web site has also been updated. In my "current" work section I have given a few untitled pieces titles as well as posted some newer works. I must also thank Big Y supermarkets for standing apart from other big chain stores and allowing me to photograph in and around their East Longmeadow store this summer. Thanks again for helping me - a grocery store photograph is essential to this body of work and without the help of Big Y, it would not have been possible.

This month I look forward to several shoots involving children - provided the leaves continue to change and the weather holds. I will also be preparing for another group show in October - details to follow.

1 june 2007

I am scheduled to be in two more group shows this summer. First, opening 21 june 2007 at Luxe Gallery is a group show of landscape. In this show will be the untitled night shot (2007) from my current body of work. Second, opening 31 august 2007 at the Visual Arts Gallery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham "Double X: Woman Representing Woman". In this show will be "Exodus 3:4" from my current body of work.

This month I hope to re-edit my current body of work and statement. I will be in Puerto Rico part of the time, but mostly, I will be photographing around New Haven and Western Massachusetts. I welcome summer.

12 may 2007

I am in a group show - opening tonight - at g-module, 15, rue Debelleyme, Paris.

"Double-Edged Abstraction" will run until June 30. Click here for details.

1 may 2007

This past month several new photographs were posted to this site. Click on Current Work for the updates. Also, I purchased a new 4x5 camera and photographed two adorable cats for the photo illustrations in an upcoming children's book. Thanks for all your help Christine!

Please keep checking back for new updates. I am anticipating another backyard shoot this spring and one at Nipmuck State Park (when the state flower blooms).

1 april 2007

Still working, still working, still working despite a few setbacks this month. A week long shoot in North Carolina ended badly back in Connecticut when my film was returned to me with various degrees of striping. Apparently, there was a problem in the developing and/or the exposure of the film. Looking forward, I will return to North Carolina in August to spend another week on the dunes of Jockeys Ridge State Park as my quest for the perfect self portrait continues.

A month ago I mentioned an update on this web site - there will soon be new photos to review in both ongoing bodies of work. Please keep checking back.

1 march 2007

I continue the work on my current body of photographs - shooting an excess of 300 snowy images this month. And, I have edited down some wedding photographs, the new images should appear on the web site soon. I have a couple of group shows scheduled for this summer - dates and details to follow.

I am also working hard to complete the photo illustration of a children's book written by Kate Ledger.

1 february 2007

My second New York solo show is finally slated for November 2007 at the Luxe Gallery. I am currently working on this body of work.

I am also editing tens of thousands of wedding photographs.

1 january 2007

I am settling into Connecticut and have completed my photo work in DC. I have finally physically and mentally made the move back to New Haven. I am re-focusing. Hence, this web site is news itself.
